Psalms 120:1-7 (NLT)
1 A song for pilgrims ascending to Jerusalem. I took my troubles to the LORD; I cried out to him, and he answered my prayer.
2 Rescue me, O LORD, from liars and from all deceitful people.
3 O deceptive tongue, what will God do to you? How will he increase your punishment?
4 You will be pierced with sharp arrows and burned with glowing coals.
5 How I suffer in far-off Meshech. It pains me to live in distant Kedar.
6 I am tired of living among people who hate peace.
7 I search for peace; but when I speak of peace, they want war!

When we encounter the disappointments, unfaithfulness, and conflicts that often come with human relationships, we are given a powerful opportunity—to bring the weight of it all to the faithful Prince of Peace, who does exactly as He has promised.
Instead of accepting the false identity of victimhood or inferiority that such experiences may try to impose, we can turn to the One who never leaves nor forsakes us. In doing so, what was meant for defeat is transformed into triumph, regardless of how things may appear in the moment.
Even before we fully experience His restoring work, there is a declaration of faith we can make from the certainty of its outcome: “He answered when I cried out to Him.” As His faithfulness is lifted above the failures of others, His truth rises higher than every destructive lie—and His restoration follows.
